I never shot with the D2x above 800 – and with the exception of photographing then Senator Barack Obama, I always shot at 100 – mostly because I can’t afford to have grain and noise as I often blow my images up to a rather large size. For technical feedback, you might try Nikon’s Flickr discussion group… bottom line, I’m not in a position to compaire D200 to D2x, but, yes, D2x has grain and noise at high ISO. Good luck!

How do you like the D2x in regards to it’s ISO capability?
I’ve heard people struggle since it only goes to about ISO 800 clearly. I have a D200 but would love a D2x…but I do a lot of low light work. I have a 2.8 and faster glass, but still not sure, because I go up to ISO 1200-1600 about 20% of the time.

That was a great video. Excellent information that I intend to use. I see everything as a potential picture. It’s making the choice that’s hard.
That’s why I love editing. Thanks!

the lens you see most often in this video is the Nikkor 14-24, 2.8MM, absolutely stunning lens. The long lens you see once in front of the fountain at the Paris hotel is Nikkor 70-200, 2.8MM. Hope this helps… – Jesse

These tips are the essence of of creative photography and go beyond the technical aspects that most people focus on. I have seen articles that show how a photographer that concentrates on creativity can shoot fantastic photos without the use of high-end DSLRs.
