Go to dummies.com. You sign up and they send you weekly tips on all kinds of subjects. Of course, when you are signing up, you get to pick the subjects. Each tip has references to other tips you can access too! They explain thing in plain English and I have found their tips to be very helpful.
Photography for Dummies is a good book that will really help you.

Get the photography for Dummies book. It’s worth the price and it’ll put you a middle level in no time. I started with that book, you can take a look to my work at
Good luck,

John Hedgecoe’s Complete guide to Photography and John Hedgecoe’s Photography Basics are the two best books for beginning photographers. Check to see if he has a book on digital photography, too.
